For this extension, it would make more sense to add the IconPackager entry into the "DropHandler" Key. This may be resolved also, by changing the "DropHandler" key entry for exefile associations.

exe icon is not really needed.Īll system tray icons also revered to the defaults (no generic blank icons).Īs a side note, you can revert any extension association this way, to find the file association, go to registry "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES\ROOT" find the extension you want to revert and go to the registry entry named under default to change the icon handler. Removing this entry reverts the registry to a default of "%1" which is the icon that is normally associated with any program that is installed. But it changes the default icon that other programs read, such as Object Dock. exe does not have an icon associated in the. The only reason to have this entry is when a.
HOW TO CHANGE ICONS IN OBJECTDOCK PLUS INSTALL
I don’t know why this key is created when you install IconPackager, the program does not handle. Solution is to remove registry key "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex\iconhandler" I'll let you know later this year if I ever manage to persuade my boss to fork out the $500 or so to buy Win 7.Ah, found it, this is what fixed it for me, Same with Object dock, Steam might actually work with it fine on Win 7. So perhaps Fences is far more stable on Win 7 (but I personally wouldn't risk it after the trouble I had). Of course my experience is mainly with XP and with non-US language based OS. If you using that feature and you start chatting via Steam, Object dock will crash 99% of the time. However, Object dock does not work well with the new Steam client (if you're using Object dock's ability to display taskbar items in a dock). And in doing so, see perhaps one crash a month or so. I personally manually start it up after Windows has finished loading, then unload it before shutting down. Object dock, while it does crash once in a blue moon (more so if you allow it to run automatically on start up - at least in my experience) is a far better solution. Just not worth the bother when it fucks up. I thought that was a one off, but it happened for the second time on a fresh install and then a third time on a separate PC, I no longer use fences.

I used to use fences but after a few months, it completely fucked up resulting in locking me out of the PC due to how it would crash during start up, resulting in a state in which even the task manager was not accessible. Oh, and it's 103 icons, on 1280x1024, and they take only a bit over half of my screen. Oh, and then theres that problem with selecting icons with the mouse, somehow it always leaves the left row unselected. ObjectDock 1.2 also includes a completely redesigned icon zooming system to provide much smoother looking mouse-over effects. Then, even if some\thing bad happens like "select all icons and click properties" which on my Fences places almost all icons in one fence, it could be easily fixed without resorting to restoring a layout.
I wish there was an option to label icons and use those labels to place icons in specific fences. Perhaps it's because of the size of my Fences. ) The resolution changes back, and then an icon switches fences. I rarely hide them, mostly because i rarely look at the desktop. Carlosjuero: - the only time I have seen icons/fence areas jump around with resolution changes are if a) for some reason the resolution didn't change back properly on game exit or if I don't have the icons hidden when launching a game.
